no. 3?

No need for those huge eyes - I'm not pregnant.

I just found out a close friend happens to be (pregnant).

The very small circle hubby and I move around with all have a maximum of 2 kids. Some with a combination of a boy and a girl and some with both of the same genders. Us being one of them. So, we were a little surprised that this particular friend of ours is pregnant with her 3rd child.

I know, it's nothing new, having 3 or 4 kids these days are pretty much the norm. But, the thing is, you know how I was lamenting about having kids at a urm...advanced age? It just seemed natural to assume that your same circle will do the same - stop all kinds of production. Or maybe it's me, being naive as usual for thinking that just because we have decided to stop, everyone's following suit.

In a way, I can understand her reason for trying...she has 2 boys. I probably would too, if I had my kids earlier. They did have their kids early but I just didn't expect them to wait 5 years before trying again. If it was me, I'd have tried yonks ago and if it didn't happen, I'd have left it as it is.

That aside, juggling 3 isn't easy. Heck, juggling 2 is hard enough but 3!!. I know many have done it and are still doing it very successfully might I add. But, it's a no thanks for me. 2 is enough (ps : I better not speak-eth too soon eh?? ;-p).

So, where on earth is this post going? No where...just a piece of brainless gossiping about people you dont know...:-0)...

everyone's birthday

Did you know that, apparently, today is everyone's birthday? Well, according to the chinese calendar or more significantly, according to my grandma, today we celebrate the-human-life's birthday. Doesn't matter when you were actually born, doesn't matter how old you are, it's your birthday today.

And so, allow me to be the first to wish you a very happy birthday! No candles though :-)

Anyway, we celebrated our 'birthday' at my grandma's house this evening with yet another lovely and sumptuous feast. My aunt made curry crab, and there was also very spicy home-made acar. Man...I am stuffed! Usually, when one's tummy's full to the brim, the next thing one wants to do is hit one's bed. I am telling you, by simply eating how I ate, insomniacs can be cured. No need for dangerous sleeping pill prescriptions; just eat till you drop and you will just drop!

I am so sleepy right now, I can hardly keep my eyes open. I think my bed's yelling for me. Adios...Goodnight!

oh mr sun, sun...mr golden sun...

shinning down on me...

If you look at me now, I look like roast beef..All of us look like roast beef in fact. Ash finally got a tan...in a long time. It does look nice on her though.

We went to Bagan Lalang..again!! Seems it's pretty much a CNY trend to be heading there for some sun. I'm a little bit disappointed with the development or should I say, the lack of. It looks the same when I first visited 3 years ago and it's as if time stopped and nothing moved. Really strange indeed. But, then again, what do you really expect from a local developer eh. I tried to stay positive but frankly, I am running out of patience. It's the same feeling I get whenever someone talks about seo software - no thanks!

We found crabs, swam in mud and flew or attempted to fly a kite. And, if you must know, I am bummed!

crazy bird day

We took the kids to the bird park this afternoon. We could've made it in the morning but hubby's niece wasn't feeling too well so we waited till she felt better before deciding to make that move. And, she did; she felt better in the afternoon and so we were good to go. Besides, the park isn't huge, we figured that we'll be spending no more than 3 hours in the bird jungle.

After that, we we were all pooped. The kids enjoyed themselves naturally. Even Ash because she's been there before but she was too young to remember anything. I doubt she'll even remember this trip. Oh and we left Em with my MIL..heheh...

Personally, I didn't really enjoy it as much. It got a little boring towards the end. I hope I won't have to make a trip there ever again...heheh..

Now that the aftermath is over, I have only 1 question on my mind - how to get rid of blackheads? Seriously, with all these sweating and pores opening, I need the answer now more than ever!!

p.s : I watched Up on DVD a couple of days ago and I had this strange illusion that I might see "kevin' running across our paths this afternoon...LOL (read : going nuts!)

cooling down

What a welcoming sign - I woke up and looked out the window and no sun; just clouds and smell of looming thunderstorm. Just nice since we've decided to let the kids sleep and rest in today. No more walking, jumping and other "hyper" activities. Of course, all were looking forward to the beach but we had to tell them that we were not doing it tomorrow (today) cos we wanted to be around in case grandpa needs to see the doc and all. Speaking of grandpa, he was doing much better yesterday. So, he should be good to go by end of the week.

So, today is a day for all to re-charge and re-group and basically, clean the house heheh...it did look as if a mini cyclone just swept through and left no stones un-turned. And worst, my face is starting to resemble the moon/mars what with the lack of sleep and early wake-up calls. Now, where's my bottle of acne cleanser cos it's like my face's American Express - I don't leave home without it!!

the new year

it's the 3rd day of CNY and we were supposed to go to the beach for some sun and fun. before you go "ooh...that's nice", it's actually not because the weather's been freaking hot! I'd much rather walk about aimlessly at the malls enjoying the not-so-fresh-but-cool-air. Something we did yesterday. We brought the jing-bang to 1U bought a bunch of stuff like kites, buckets, spades and stuffs for the beach. I took the opportunity to grab my depleting shampoo and a couple of office supplies such as papers and pencils. If you're wondering (because I know you are), they are for Ash. She's been using them and misplacing them and some times I find them at MIL's.

Also, shopping during the new year is really fun because the malls aren't filled to the brim with people. Especially if you're like me, someone who couldn't be bothered to wrestle with the folks for clothes, you'll find buying them now is such a breeze. No waiting for the changing room, no need to step on anyone's toes. Just grab, try and buy hehhe...I know, I am such a loser. But, hey, anything that rocks my boat...flows..(I must be drunk; I don't even know how that came out).

But, we have to re-schedule our beach trip to sometime later this week because FIL has caught the flu-bug. So, we're staying close by just in case he needs to see the doc. It hasn't really been the best of CNY for us what with so many family members falling sick. I just hope he recovers soon; it's no fun being sick during CNY..

happy chinese new year!!

I know -- I am awfully late with the wishes. I've been so so busy with last minute shopping, preparation and a little request from a friend. So, it's all been occupying my time for the past few days preceding the new year. Also, what's with the kids being bitten by the flu-bug. And finally, my BIL and family's in town for the first time during CNY. Therefore, we've been shuttling back and forth as many times as possible to be with them at my MIL's house.

Ash and Em met their cousins for the first time, ever! I'm glad to say that they hit it off like ol' pals. It's as if they've known each other for years. Ash has finally met her 'kor kor' and she's been following him everywhere...heheh...they are so cute together despite their age gap of 7 years! Her kor-kor indulges her whims and fancies, which goes down well with her by the way. I just hope that when it's time for them to leave, she'll not be too heartbroken and will actually let him go heheh...

As for Em, she's still in a daze, not knowing fully what's going on. Because we are out of theSo house so often, she knocks out pretty fast during the night-time. It's actually a relieve for us since she was having difficulty sleeping last week due to stuffy nose and irritating throat. Oh yea, she's recently developed a tiny patch of eczema at the neck area behind her. The doc prescribed something for her to apply. So far, the meds are working, no need for eczema alternative treatments unlike some so...I am glad.

Ok, that's it for now. Gotta pack and head on over to MIL's. Speak soon..

hello?

Hello?

W-h-a-t?

Wa you doing there?

ok...bye

momsie : Who did you call?

Ash : Ashy gurl call Goofy

momsie : **burst into laughter**...what did goofy say?

Ash : I dunno...Ashy gurl call Goofy.

I wonder what Goofy said on the other line? More Goofy snacks perhaps...need advice on which modern furniture to get since I think the Clubhouse needs a major overhaul.

Oh well, whatever it is, I am certainly glad its Goofy and not some Tom, Dick or Harry! I may not have a major problem with that but I am willing to bet that hubby WILL have something to say! **grins**

did you know?

that...we were married for 5 years before we had Ash?

oh. before that, are you even remotely interested? hehhe...doesn't matter. I'll tell you anyway. yes, we were. If we had kids straight-away, Ash will be 8 and Em will be 6. Looking at the numbers now, it's made me realise how so very far off I am.

So, did I regret or was it an infertility issue? It's not the first time we get asked this question. You know, I think my mom was also having that thought but of course, being a mom, the last thing you'd want to do is to make matters harder for your child than it already is so she just kept her thoughts to herself.

Ok, so first thing's first - do I regret having kids so late in my life (I am no spring chicken people!)? Some days, I do. Because I have this illusion of fitting into those skimpy jeans and droop-down top and you know, still have it. But, on most days, I don't because if I had kids earlier, we won't have the luxury of me being at home with the kids.

The next most popular question thrown at us - do you have a problem? I don't think so. But we did have to try about 6 months for Ash. And for Em, we didn't try at all. We did initially, but since we realised that we couldn't meet the deadline of 2008, we stopped. LOL..and then, when we least expected it, she was conceived. So, I may have had some problem I'm not entirely sure but at least, we didn't have to burn our pockets fixing anything.

So, there...now you know..:-)
