The flu that's going around

Just take a second to be extra careful with them kids. Bad flu virus going around. Mini kena-ed. She has been vomiting and coughing and fevering the past 2 days. A couple of days before, she threw up while on the way to school but, she was all jumpy after that so we thought nothing of it. Then just last Friday, she started having fever and threw up again. Then, coughing at night. Last night, she threw up again which caused us to stay up past mid-night to get the sheets, pillow, bolsters, blanket..etc..all washed. Or rather, I stayed up cos hubby couldn't tahan any longer and he went up to sleep.

So, that was that. SHe's ok now, for now. We have to wait till night time to truly know if she is totally fine or not. Worst will be another case of sleepless night for us O_O.

Kids love their puzzles

Here's Mini with her favorite puzzle. My girls love doing puzzles. Not crazy mad about them, just that they get pretty excited and will sit for a considerable amount of time figuring out the puzzle pieces. Ash has more attention span compared to Mini. Once it gets difficult, Mini will come looking for us. Normally what we do is, we will ask Ash to help Mini. heheh...and they can end up fighting cos Mini insist on her ways sometimes eventhough for example, a piece don't fit, she'll want to fit it in. And, this, drives Ash up the wall (because Ash is such an OCD). Sooo glad it's not me...*snigger*.

Valentine's gift

Yeah I know, Valentine's so over. What did hubby get me? Well, I kinda made him get me something cos we were out shopping for Ash's bathrobe and we went into this..this...home decor shop. I made him pay for this really cute cutlery set. So cute that I haven't had the heart to use it yet..hahah. Trust me it's cute. It's not me to get something like this; I would imagine something my sister would get but still, I got it. A gift from him to me. Definitely not gifts for guy from her. Know what I mean..

Mini's potty training experience

Let me be honest : I have never truly potty trained Ash even, now, let alone Mini. Ash only started using the potty just as she turned 4. I know!! How can that possibly be? Well, it can..and it did because Ash never went to school till she was 4 years old. So, I never really saw the need to train her potti-ly. I figured she'd get there when she gets there.

With Mini, because she has started play-school a year earlier than her sister, I decided to give the potty a try. It worked a couple of times with the big business but never the small. Embarrassingly, I was never consistent when it came to potty-training her. It would work one day, and not, the next. I never pressured her. I never did (pushed her) even when school started because the teachers were ok to take in un-potty-trained kids.

Then, just before CNY, Mini's teacher told me to let her "try" because in class, she observed that Mini wanted to be like the older kids lining up for their toilet breaks. ANd, the teacher had to tell her she didn't have to since she was still on the diapers. So then, it appeared that Mini was quite ready, as in she knew what everyone was doing and she wanted in. Hence, the queue for me to give Mini the potty.

Frankly, I had my reservations for some reason. I felt that she may want to do what the older kids do, but not necessarily ready to do it. But, her teacher was confident and convinced me that Mini will be fine (and ready). So, I said OK.

So, one day last week, she went to school without her diapers. Can I describe to you how stressful I felt the entire morning? I was truly stressed up. And, worried that she will make a complete mess in hubby's car and I will get an earful when he gets back or I'd receive a shelling on the phone because it was my idea to let her go to school in her underwear. I was pretty worried throughout the morning and silently praying that she'll ace her test on the first day.

Wanna know what happened? Well, for starters, hubby's car was spared. But, not the classroom. hehehe...Her teacher took her to pee every half-hour or so but she held it in cos she was afraid of falling. But, when she couldn't hold on  any longer, she let go on her chair and onto the floor..Oppss!!!

I am all ready to give up but her teacher assured me that it's quite the norm for first timers (I didn't know cos nothing like this ever happened with Ash) and that I should continue to help and guide her. That was last week. Plus, it was the last day of school for the week for Mini. I haven't decided yet if I want to let her go through the ordeal next week. Let me think about it.

Back to School

The kiddos are back to school. Am I loving the "holiday" or what? Of course I do! Whenever Mini goes to school with her jie-jie, I wake up extra early so as to cherish the ME time for a couple of hours. Well, minus an hour or so house-keeping and cooking, I don't have that plenty of hours left. But, still -- I will do everything in my power to enjoy my time till the last millisecond before scooting off to get her.

Ah..such is life of a school-going SAHM. Plus the fact that they don't even go to real school (I consider Primary the "real" school). So, they go to playschool and playschool is for play which is absolutely perfect for a slacker mom like me. I mean, I don't know what they do at school. Well, as long as I don't get calls from the teachers complaining about them punching the face of another, I reckon they must be doing OK.

So, what do I do whilst they are away? Oh, nothing much. Just put my feet up, soak for hours in the bathtub, sipping champagne eating strawberries. hehhehe..If you believe this, you'd believe anything!

No la, I where got time to be doing anything of that sort? I am no trophy wife. I gotta get my hands dirty and my face oily from toiling in front of the hot stove cooking lunch and parts of dinner. Then, I gotta stand under the hot sun putting up the laundry. Clean up the mess that the girls make. It's a good thing I do not have a lawn. If I did, I'd definitely walk. I can be so tied up that I don't even have the time to do that teleconferencing thingy with the inlaws or my friends. Skype will be beeping and I will be either in the johns or sauteeing sushi. I feel bad because a friend's mom just had a tumor removed and I haven't even gone to visit her. But, soon. See what I mean by loving the hols? I so love the hols.

OK. I'm off. Need to get up bright and early with the sun.
