The Olympics and world's fastest man

I am just done watching our man being white-washed by the Chinese. Quite a disappointing outing considering Chong Wei plays much better than that. I know, it's relatively easy for us spectators to carve out theoretical strategies for those actually playing. Put me down on center court and I am quite sure I will wet my pants. So, I shall not dish out anymore criticism but just say “Sorry about the loss and we know you tried your best. Congratulations on the silver and I mean it”.

Last evening was pretty eventful for me. At least from the tube's perspective. Managed to perform finger olympics myself – switching between 3 channels simultaneously without missing a beat! That, in itself, is pretty much deserving of an Olympic medal to say the least. If Equestrian can be considered a sporting event and a medal contender, I am darn sure my channel surfing can.

Wouldn't you agree with me that guys (and gals), on a horse, bopping up and down isn't exactly sports? Besides, the horse is doing all the work and all these people ever do is just sit there pretty. And who do you think gets the medal in the end? Not the horse definitely! I mean, if I was the horse, I would be super mad seeing the rider stand on the rostrum, receiving a medal amidst thunderous applause and all I ever get is probably a pat on the back while being ushered back into the stables. So much for glory, so much for recognition. Just to spite them, I would simply just throw a fit and throw the rider off course. Render me insane, I don't care. After all, I'm just the horse.

For me, the highlight of the Olympics, other than the opening ceremony, was the 100m sprint last night. Man, that guy is F.A.S.T! Unbelievable! I only went into the loo for a quick pee (I couldn't hold on any longer) and even before I was done, it was all over. Must be something with them golden boots giving him the edge. Well, I think it's official : Usain Bolt runs faster than I can pee!! I certainly do hope he can equal Carl Lewis' record of winning the 200m as well. Otherwise, there's always the Jamaican bobsled team at the winter olympics..LOL...I miss watching Cool Runnings..

Wanna know where I went on Friday afternoon? Go here..*smile*
